Computing

Our Computing curriculum is designed with the following aims in mind:

Intent

Children are experts in using technology in order to find solutions to problems

• They enjoy programming and using a range of technologies to complete tasks

• They are creative in their use of technology

• They understand the risks and responsibilities that come with using ICT

Children are encouraged to become responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.

Implementation

• Through the use of the Purple Mash scheme of learning, children will be taught how to code and program, using a range of software to complete tasks and solve problems

• A range of hardware is used imaginatively across the school to develop children’s skills

• The majority of time will be spent working practically

Impact

The impact will be seen through:

• Children who are skilled in coding and programming

• Children who can use the internet and technology safely and responsibly

• Children who are capable of solving problems using technology creatively
